Hello all. I just set up my 65 gallon tall tank, and I plan to raise some discus. I was wondering if some silver dollars would go nicely with them? I plan to add a pleco, and I'm particularly interested in other types of schooling fish. Also, any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Silver dollars are far too active and this can stress the discus. Small tetras would be your better options. Cories will compliment well with the discus. Plecs are okay but be on the watch out for their habit to suck the slime coat of the discus which can render them vulnerable to stress and illnesses. Ancistrus are okay provided you have plenty of hiding places as ancistrus plecs do tend to become territorial as they defend their boundaries.
