If only I could keep all sick animals..
So today I went to petco to get some food for the animals and then I saw a lady that worked at one of the local shelters with this dog. So I went by him and petted the dog and the lady said that the dog is blind and he's available for adoption. As I was petting him his head hit my hand. I was he was trying to find where my hand was because usually when I pet dogs, they lick my hand. Then I saw this Oscar Cichlid and it was half blind. The fish was swimming normally but then he kind of titled to the said. I so wanted to take him home, but my tank is 10 gallons and full grown ones need at least 75 gallons. I felt so sorry for the animals that went I went out of the store, I started to feel so sad that I got the wrong food for lunch.
Has anyone felt this experience too that you felt so sorry for the animal that you just want to take it home, even though you didn't have the money?
Hm.. Maybe I should start my own rescue when I'm older. lol But I don't think that will never happen in this economy.
You have a big/kind heart, don't give up on a dream of owning your own shelter one day if that is something you really want to do, you never know what the future holds (as they say). ;-)
You're certainly not alone. It's why I can't stay in pet stores for very long. I want to take every single animal home that looks like it needs love and care.
I always thought I'd do something with animals whether it was becoming a vet or helping out in a shelter but I know I'd bring home every unwanted or sick puppy and since that's not practical for so many reasons, I just have to care for what I can handle at any given time. Currently, that is fish but we're talking about getting a dog soon from a shelter.
Oh thanks guys. :) I would like to Volunteer at my local animal shelter or at a Childrens hospital by me.
