Ok, so many sites that I have read have stated that orange chromides are brakish water fish, and should only be kept in brackish water tanks or temperarelley kept in fresh and then kept in brackish conditions.
Some sites say they can be kept in fresh water just fine , or in fresh water with some salt added.
And then there are others that state that both the orange and green chromides are found in both brackish and fresh water in the wild.
so which information is right?
I have Orange Chromides, and I have only kept them in Brackish. Most of what I have read, says they are Brackish fish. I do not know, how long they would survive in fresh water.
I have read of people keeping them in fresh water, and said the fish became a very pail orange, till moved into Brackish.
I agree. From my understanding from a biologist, this fish mainly lives in coastal brackish waters in Asia, and may enter freshwater from time to time but if maintained in a freshwater aquarium will usually develop health issues and lack colour.
