Amano Shrimp

These guys move quick! The most bizarre thing about em to me is they know how to swim up to the top for fish flakes... My LFS said he might be shy at first, it was everything but that... Anyone Gotta few of these?

Nice pics. yes, i've got 2. They do a great job at eating algae but as they've matured they've increasingly been eating my (healthy) wisteria and pennywort. Think I'm gonna put them in a little tank of thier own after the baby cories that are in there have matured

Yea, they are known to eat soft plants... and the funny thing is being that they are "see thru", you can catch em red handed! lol

Amano shrimp can't swim. If your shrimp are swimming with little 'fans' under their tail, then they sold you ghost shrimp.

Ghost shrimp ate my dwarf baby tears :/

Sorry, didn't really see the picture. After looking around online, some amanos can swim.

My mistake.
They can also catch fish and eat them, according to the same source. I was planning on getting amanos.. not anymore.

I doubt that... you'd have to have a really small fry for that to happen... But, he does love to steal my Frogs Blood worms, which he got bit for... My frogs dont play when it comes to eating.

How do they escape your tanks? lol no lid?

even lided tanks have holes. I'm betting they climb up heater cords and such. I love cherry shrimp, they stay small, are more colorful and easily reproduce compared to amano shrimps.
