Hello new to the forum Hey, my name is Brittany and I found this forum after searching on google and found many of the threads to be full of good advice. I have had thirty gallon tanks with freshwater fish, but I finally switched to saltwater. I now have a 100 gallon saltwater tank. I wanted to ask some of you for advice. I am about to go visit some family and they also have a saltwater setup. However, they are breaking their tank down and are going to give the fish to me. I have to travel about fifteen hours by car. What is the best way to keep the fish alive for that long of a car ride? Thanks so much for your help! |
Hi Brittany, Welcome to TFK. We hope you like it here  It might be a good idea to start a thread in the saltwater section of the forum to get your answers about moving your fish. Good luck. |
well are you bagging the fish or going to put them in a tub? i would get a food safe rubber made tube and put their water in it and they should be fine 30gal tube would work once fish and water are in seal it with ducktape to stop the water from splashing out or you could bag them and get jungle bag buddies it releases O2 in to the water hear they are good |
Thanks Romad. I will post my question in the saltwater area. Darkmaster Yoda- thanks for the suggestion and I will look into it. |
hello and welcome. :) |
Welcome to TFK forum. Byron. |
hello hello good to hear there is another reefer aboard..dont forget to keep the car warm.. |
this time of year your prob. going to have to keep the car cooler and i suggest using your AC if your car has one, ofcourse depending where you are located. i suggest either bag each fish and put them into a styrofoam cooler or 5 gallon bucket, depending fish size. goodluck and welcome to the forum. |
Welcome to TFK :-D |
