Plec inquiry from inexperienced orb owner
Could anyone tell me whether there is a type of Plec fish which is suitable for cold water orb aquarium?
The reason I ask is that I am informed it is a good fish to have if you want the green muck on the inside of the orb glass eating.
Re: Plec inquiry from inexperienced orb owner
No plecs will be recommended regardless of size of the orb. The dimensions are far too odd for the plecs. Furthermore, plecs are mostly tropical fish and being heavy waste producers, a significantly large tank with powerful filtration would be the best environment for them. What fish are in that orb glass?
Most plec species do not thrive on algae alone. They need a lot of foods on their diet and some are carnivorous. There are actually hundreds of species available in the trade.
Hillstream loach. Eats algae & likes cool water.
