Rotting Face Ram
I have a tank that has a variety of fish and all of them are doing well, but one of my German Blue Ram's face is starting to rot. I know he doesn't have fin and/or tail rot. It looks like he ran into some aquarium decor and the wound is starting to rot from the middle of his face to around his eyes. I can literally almost see his brain...YUCK. None of the fish are bothering him and he's still eating, but I can tell it's getting worse. Any advice? I don't currently have a sick tank to put him in either.

it ay be a fatal case of HITH or hole in the head dease with is most common with cichilids and not much to do but I would get melafix, parasite killers, and do a water change and raise the temp to prevent parasites

1) this is in the wrong section of the forums, under diseases, you will get more help.

2) Do not use melafix, that stuff is not meant for serious injuries/diseases.

3) Rot is not indicative of parasites, carefully examine your fish and look at the list of diseases in the disease section and see if you can diagnose it yourself. Using anti- parasite meds will only cause additional stress to the fish.

I said that to prevent it not to say that rot meant parasite
