Female Betta and Gouramis

I've just started my first tank and it is finally cycled. It is a 29 gallon and right now I have 5 female betta. I would love to put a dwarf gourami or a honey sunset or two in there. Everything I've read advises against putting betta and gouramis together, but never specifically female betta.
Would this truly be a bad idea?

It is very risky even with females. I've kept females and some can be on the same aggression level as the males. No can do but I prefer to be safe than sorry.

Welcome to the forum Glitch. Personally, I would recommend such a mix.

Oh - and NICE avatar!
