Parasite Infection - Help needed

Hi..I have a freshwater tropical fish aquarium...

I have 3 black widow tetras and 3 fantail gold fish...
Recently I have been noticing some red spots on the fish body and a small white color thing hanging from the fish body...looks like some parasite...i don't understand how this got here so suddenly...
The aquarium is 8 months old...now this is spreading to all the fishes...it started with the tetras...gold fish has red spots all over the body....But the fish are active and feeding well....

I have tried using a certain medicine called as Mr. White...some blue color one...which says would kill the parasites...but not really sure...as I am quite new to this....

Somebody please help me....

Can you grab the bottle of the medice and post some details such as brand/medicine name/ingredients.

Also do you have the ability to take pictures? They would help

Hi Thanks for the response...
Strangely the medicine container does not show any ingredients...but says it can be treated for ich, chilodonelia, costila, trichodine and tetrahymena....
I dont have a very good camera...but have captured a image...not sure how helpful it is...but do pls have a look and suggest your comments.....

In the pic...from the red spots...a white worm like thing is hanging...around 2 to 4 mm long.,...which is not clear in the photo....
