HELP ME PLZ!

K i was feeding my fish and all of i sudden i notice that one of my fish was laying down on the floor of the tank (its a molly that doesnt lay on floor of tank). i have a 10 gallon maybe 15 gallon tank, i have 3 tetris's, the molly thats dying, and an otto catfish. ive had the molly for 2 years (got it from someone that had it for about 2 years) then had other fish for a few months. heres a picture.

2 years your tank, 2 years theother tank, 6 months to a year beofre it was sold, it could simply be old age. Their life span is 4-5 years so it could be nothing more than that. I would still test the water to make sure that everything is doing well as far as ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates.

On a side note, and I am not questioning you, the fish looks like a Zebra Danio. For a molie it is a very unique color!

I immediately thought Zebra danio as well. But it does sound like he's had a good, happy life!

In case it is not just old age, though, are there any other visible signs of illness? Swelling, discoloration, fin rot, fungus, etc.?

none really

none other than a hump growing on the back, but thats it :) but i think it might be a Zebra Danio, but mollie is what i remember.

Old age / genetic problems seem to be the culprit.

What are you feeding him?

Welcome to Fishforum.com.

It's a zebra danio, not a molly.

Edit: Sorry about your loss, Assault.

I'm really sorry to hear about your fish assualt911, that's tough. Sounds like it had a good life though.

Out of interest, are you still going to get the 55 gallon tank?
