i bought a healthy lookin red wag platy n about a day later he looked like he had ich so i started using the ich med i had n it hasnt gone away but he isnt dead yet and no other fish have caught it so im confused, i heard salt will kill ich and i was meaning to get some for my tank anyways for my livebearers. should i use salt, howmuch, and why wont it go away. it is just a little bit of white spots on him that come and go in the morning he doesnt hav many by night he has about 10-20 more

I had an outbreak in my tank, used Lifeguard for the 5 days, did the water change, nothing changed, lost fish, but not all of them, I added 1 mounding table spoon of salt to every 5 gallons of water and after a couple of days it all went away, my fish that had it the worst survived, it was covered from mouth to tail in those little white specks, looked like a completly different fish
3 months later and i still have that fish :)
so yes marine salt does work,
im just noticed it in my baby tank so i just did 100% water change and added salt so hopefully in a few days it will be gone
Best of luck to you!
