So I put a bunch of live plants in my 55 gallon tank today. went back to the LFS to get a couple more ornaments when some ghost shrimp caught my eye. So I bought 4 of them....is that good or bad for the cycle process? Its on day 2.
I heard to let your tank cycle for two days and then add plants. Wait another two days, then add some fish.
But that's just me, a novice aquirist using big syllable words.
I'd say more bad for the Shrimp than the cycling process.
Ghost shrimp can be be an excellent "clean up crew" cause they feed on algae, detritus and left over food. In a newly established tank, basically none of these will be available for a source of food; unless you supply them with sinking food.
Also keep an eye on water parameters during the cycling process.
