is it a fry?
I was looking around the tank earlier and spotted a tiny movement, when I looked closer I saw a tiny, almost completely transparent sphere with a shot tail swimming around below some leaves, only spotted one and it went back into hiding so don't have a pic. does this sound like a fry or some kind of parasite?
Im a beginner you see and this is a community tank not a breeding one.
the tank contains neon tetras, danios, cherry barbs and a variation of kuhli loach
any ideas or pics of similar to help me identify would be a great help
Catch some if you can. It sounds like a fry to me, if you want to keep it you should get it out of there before it gets eaten like what probably happened to the rest of them... That's if there fry which I can't be 100% sure of unless I see it or something
Cluskey, welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum.
Yes, a photo would help, even one of the tank in general. Fry can survive if there are enough places to hide, such as in thick plants, and they can feed off the microscopic plankton in a healthy tank. With the fish you mention, I would suspect the danio as the likely fish, they are easy spawning.
