Ok I think I have a fish list put together Sorry for being a pain in the @#$. Can you take a look at this list and tell me what you think? Will these be ok together and am I covered with bottom feeder? 55 Gallon planted tank. 2x Pearl Gourami 2x Opaline Gourami Corydoras Arcuatus African Dwarf frog 5x Rosy Barbs Is there a tank mate, creature or plant that helps with fish wastes? Thanks, Zeus |
I would recommend a group or 5-6 of the cories. I can't comment on the frogs as I don't know much about them, otherwie it looks good to me. For a clean up crew are you wanting fish? Or have you thought about shrimp/snails? |
will that many cories not be to much fish for the tank?? Z |
Nix the barbs. |
i agree that cories are best in a group. and i think herefishy is saying nix the barbs because they will nip the long flowing fins of your gouramis. you might want to look at some calm tetras like rummynose or black neons. |
What about adding a school harlequin rasbora? Also, what order should I put these fish in the tank? I was also thinking about adding some crypts, vallisnerias and anubias for plants. Thoughts? Z |

Thanks for the input guys. This site rocks. |
So gouramis will be good in the tank first? I don't want to put maybe the rasbora in to help with the cycling? Z |
Gouramis are fairly hardy and they are labyrinth breathers so they can get air from the surface. As for the harlequins, make sure the tank is completely cycled and sits for a bit before adding them, they are sensitive to ammonia. |
