55 gallon stocking question
I have had my 55 for about a year now and have gone through many different decor changes and stocking changes and I think I have found a combo I really like. The tank has two tetra ex70 filter, lots of driftwood covered with java moss and a jungle of valisineria. I have 1 bristlenose pleco, 1 red tailed black shark, 15 tiger barbs and 10 columbian tetra. I am having an itch to add one more species but I fear I may not have room. What do you guys think? If I have room, what would go well.
Another shoaling fish would work. You will want active fish to match what you have, such as some of the medium barbs in the profiles.
I was thinking Serape Tetra, I like the color and I think they can hold their own. What do you think? The other species that caught my eye was the red melon barb, I have never heard of them, but the owner of LFS claims they color up very nicely as they get older. They are a bit expensive though. How does 8-10 of either sound?
The Melon Barb I am not familiar with, but doing a quick reference check suggests it might be too mellow for Tigers. I read it should be OK with peaceful fish; that is not an adjective for Tigers.:-)
