hermit vs. crab
 

I was just wondering which would be better for a clean up crew emeral green crabs or hermit crabs. I have 65 gallon.

without knowing the conditions and what your trying to conrtol.its hard to give you to much of an opinion..but i like both..a couple emeralds and a crew of hermits...there are alot of hermits out there so choose wisely.

hermits seem more versatile to me...red leg,blue leg, scarlet, holloween,those are some good hermit candidates..

I know there are some that do not like crabs, but I personally have a ton of hermits in my reef, along with some large Mexican turbo snails for algae control. The hermits don't do a very good job on algae, but they do a great job with detritus and uneaten food.

Ya I just got 10 red leg hermits and 3 emreral and 2 of the emeral crabs have really done a number on the algae already

sweet man ...just remeber to under stock as the food stuffs will be eaten up sooner than lateras far as algaes go.
