Rocks for a Cichlid tank?

Hi,

I am in mid cycle for a cichlid tank. I was in my basement and noticed a lot of cool looking rocks, and they would look good in the tank. I am unsure of what type of rocks they are, and I am also unsure of which rocks would be okay to add. Anyone help me out? I know certain rocks will raise PH, hardness etc. The water in the tank already has a high ph and is hard.

If anyone from Ontario is reading this, the rocks are from Muskoka.

I would do the "Fizz test" first by dripping some vinegar on the rocks. If they fizz then it means they are no good. Even if they dont fizz it does not mean they are 100% safe though. Leave them in a bucket of water for a week and test the pH, depending on what Cichlids you have will depend if the rocks are right for that tank.
