What are my catfish? 3 Attachment(s) Attachment 27783 Attachment 27784 Attachment 27785 I've had the bigger on of the two (who is upright) for about 3 months and in that time she has grown nearly 5 inches. At first we thought she was a bristelnose catfish but she is now around 7 - 7 1/2 inches long and looks to be still going so either she is a giant or we got it wrong. I know the photo doesnt show much of her but i'm waiting until she comes out tonight to try and get a better one of her. What is she? and is she actualy a she? The second one is a new member of my family. We've been caling it a him for now but we truly have no idea what sex he is. He is tiny (much smaller than we remember the other being when we bought her) He is only about 1 1/2 - 2 inches and his finns are small in proportion to the rest of his body. Again.... What is he? and is he a he? Anythig you can help with would be great Thanx Lucy |
Those look like common pleco's. They are decent algea eaters, but they will grow to over a foot long and eat/uproot live plants. They need minimum 60 gallons, but I recommend 80+ gallons. Neither are Bristlenose plecos, as they stay smaller. It is very hard to determine their gender until they become adults. |
