What size is the tank? A lot negative factors can be pointed out with the mix although I must admit mixing both successfully until the angels began to spawn.

1. Aggression. Discus are often shy whereas angels can get aggressive. There is always the chance that the angels will constantly bully the discus.
2. Feeding. Angelfish are quick to consume everything whereas discus often take their time to pick on food.
3. Diseases. Discus are more vulnerable to diseases compared to the angels.

Right. I won't recommend it for now until your discus grow to 4 inches. Keep the tank bare bottom for awhile to make it easy for you to vacuum the detritus out of the discus tank. You are planning to buy discus at 2 inches size so note they are very sensitive at this size.
