Mystery Infestation?

I have no idea what's going on with my tank but, one day I saw these white things and they moved.

For lack of better description I guess they are like worms and are short like this -- except white and they crawl around the glass of the tank. It's rather gross.

Does anyone have a slight guess as to what it may be? Anything would help because I have no clue but I think it may be a parasite.

Welcome to Fishforum.com, Ethereal.

They're planaria which are actually harmless. Your fish should be able to eat them. They are a result of poor tank maintenance and overfeeding.

Ah flatworms.. eww. Thanks, I dont think my fish do a good job at eating them. Is there another way to get rid of them?

The tank is always acidic no matter what I do, would that be considered poor maintenance?

How frequent do you do your water changes? Cut feeding by once a day only and fast the fish for one day per week. I'd do water changes twice or thrice per week depending on the bioload. But the more water changes, the better and I stick to that.

I change the water once a week, so I should probably do that more.

As for the feeding, I usually feed them once a day but my parents go insane and feed them again 12 hours later -_- they feel they arent getting a share of fish care.

Ill keep these things in mind, thank you. They just look gross.. I dont want to see them when I watch my fish :(

Thanks again
