Pouch snails: a problem?
Hey guys, I just bought a few bunches of anacharis, and low and behold they came with a few pouch snails. Should I leave them in there right now before they reproduce, or should I keep them in there for their cleaning ability? So far the lil dudes are eating the algae/slime growth on some of my fake plants, and thus far have a green light for staying in my books for now. Anyone have experience with these guys, if they're good, bad, etc etc?

I just spotted one in my tank a few days ago and did a little googling to see what others think of them. For the most part people like them. IMO they have an interesting shell, which I like, so I will keep it for now. However, be warned that they breed like rabbits and you may be over populated soon enough. I've heard they don't harm healthy plants and are effective little cleaners, another bonus. If they become a problem, and they may, you can bait them each day with blanched lettuce and remove them or introduce a snail eating fish.

Ok, thought so! Yea, from what I read they're actually super efficient cleaners! Great for eating dead leaves and plant matter, so 1 less thing to worry about! Heh. Thanks for the reply!
