high tech ten gallon plan

Next year im heading off to college and can only bring a ten gallon to school. I want to attempt "aquascaping" but i'm struggling figuring out the lighting for this tank. I want to do some plants that require high lighting and have them flourish like dwarf hair grass or baby tears. any specific lights anyone would recommend? I plant on doing diy co2 too along with eco complete and flourish

eco complete AND flourish? Do you mean to mix ecocomplete and flourite or use ecocomplete and dose flourish?

Wal Mart sells a GE spiral compact at the perfect color for a planted tank.

GE Energy Smart 6500K Daylight bulbs. Like 6 bucks for 2 of them. The Walmarts here in Idaho have them in a 13 watt and a 15 watt.

I guess what im asking for is a specific light fixture not the bulb. 6500k is the way to go though

Those bulbs will screw right into any cheap incandescent hood.

+one, I use a couple of the bulbs in photo with standard hood that came with 20 gal tank.
Gonna do the same with standard hood that came with ten gal that I plan on planting ,and placing shrimp in.

I use them over a 20 long and 3 ten gallons. The plants in all of them are thriving. The great thing about the spiral compacts is that it is really easy to DIY a fixture.

what about a t-5 fixture?
