no filter for 24-48 hrs?

I need to do some maintenance on my filter so i am going to have to lower the water level about 4 inches and and keep the filter off. My tank is VERY heavily planted with very fast growth; so much so I have had to take fish out of my other tanks just to have someplace for the over growth. The heater will still be on. I have to use aquarium safe silicone sealant so that is why I have to keep the water down and filter off for 24-48 hours. Will my fish be ok with that? I can't put them in my other tanks because the sharks are just way to big.

See... I admire that.. SO many plants.. and I can't wait for my tank to take off.. The 24-48hr wait however, I dont see why your fish wouldnt survive.. I would do a 30% water change tho.. even with the water level down 4inches. That way, whatever your filter was suppose to clean out of the water, you can relieve instantly. Even without the 30% water change, I believe your fish will be fine. :-)

Yeah they will be fine as far as the filter. I would be more concerned about the uneven temperature if you don't have a current. Ideally you should keep water moving to have a even temp. I would probably just manually move some water around a few times each day.

Ok. Actually now that the temp in the house is the same as the tank I don't think I will have top much of a problem. I do have a few extra thermometers I can put in to keep an eye on the eveness of it. (i made up a word)
