Help needed! (pics included)

Went on a business trip and came home to my tank needing some help, wife said she would clean it while I was gone.. Thinking she doesn't know much about tanks. Also, my daughter wanted to help feed while I was gone, so there is a ton of extra food on the substrate, I know I can just vac that out but what do I do about the glass and the plants/decor? Also I am assuming the water was low for a while cause along the top of the glass there is like lime crust, anyone know how to get rid of that?

Also, had 2 casualties while I was gone.. Gonna order more guppies and corys and get some shrimp as well.. any and all advice is needed and welcome!

I have that same rock decor in my tank. lol

Okay, for the line of stuff where the water level dropped, a good scrubbing with a non-scratch pad should work (you know the ones that are usually blue on the gray handle they sell at petsmart and walmart). For mine when that happens I often just use a solid white paper towel (usually about 4 folded into a single thick square) that I rub across it.

As for the debris on the decor and plants...if the gravel vac wont help, you might try sticking your hand in there and seeing if you can swipe it off onto the gravel and vacuum it up from there. The only other thing I can think of that wont disturb the beneficial bacteria on the decor and plants is to do what I did a month ago... after doing my water change, I kept the last bucket of dirty tank water, and removed the plants (live and fake) that needed cleaning as well as decor pieces that needed cleaning, and quickly moved them one at a time to the bucket of dirty tank water and rinsed them in there with a little bit of my hand swiping off the harder to remove stuff. Then I quickly moved it back to the tank where I wanted it. All the time making sure it all stayed wet and didnt dry out.
