Male & female discus?
 

Hi, so I have 2-3 (can't tell one of them) Red Turquoise discus and two of them are about the same size but their fins are very different. One of them has fins that are about 1/4 inch "more full" than the other, also the shape is different - one is a very smooth, shallow cuvature and the other is more sharp and deep. See pic:

I'm hoping one is female and one is male. To me, if I were to guess, I would say the one on the left (Braveheart) is female and the one on the right (Convict) is male.

As far as I know discus are pretty much unsexable unless they are spawning.

I know :( I was hoping to get some insider secrets! But thanks, I will just have to wait and see what happens. How old do you think they usually are before they start to pair up?

i have some juvenile blue turqs and of course was wondering how to sex them as well. I found some info on this site that may eventually be useful (I mean when they get older).

but if there is one lonely cleaning some area it is exactly female.
