Vampire Crabs!!!!!!! :D
I have been eyeing up some vampire crabs for a few weeks and my boyfriend decided to surprise me with one just this week. At the moment she is in with my betta; with plenty of access to air but I am planning on setting my other tank up, as an aquaterrarium and would like to know the proper setup for a vampire crab first. I have done a lot of research but everything I read contradicts the last, so I thought I would ask here.
Hi, I looked it up on Google... now I know NOTHING about this critter, but I was warned not to put a crayfish in with my Betta, I wanted a Blue. Since the Betta has flowing billowing fins he could possibly get grabbed by the crab/cray if it gets too close. So it might be fine but I'm throwing out a word of caution. Put him in another little tank if you see any!! inclination to grab, or for safety sake. JMO. Err on the side of caution.
Post a pic, we'ld love to see him.
The vampire crab is apparently, the only crab that won't pinch humans and attack fish :D They have been in together for about 3 days now but I am in the process of setting up a crab tank for her :D
