DIscus disease
hi all

I have a problem with my discuses

the new fishes I have bought 3 days ago don't feel wel

the fins are squeezed and they are always together and they have a strong stress,

some time they swim very fast as a jump.

the they don't have normal movements and they are not upright ( they are tilted)

what sould I do?

What are your water parameters? Where did you buy them? How did you acclimatize them?

Arash 07-03-2007 01:22 AM

every water parameters are ok
ph =6.5
nitrite ammonia very low
nitrate 15
gh 15
but , all of fishes get not about the water parameters because:

their colour is changing to black

the skin is getting wound ,....

and in some parts it is some how white the white part is spotted in some of them or in another it is about a finger touch.

and the other problem is about my big fishes and it happened to all of them

I don't have a big quarantine for 20 discus :(

Water temperature should be around 82-86 degrees Farenheit. Crank it up.

I don't have any discus of my own, but I don't think they tolerate any ammonia at all and very little nitrate. If your nitrates are 15ppm, you need to do a significant water change, I think. Most people report changing discus water several times a week in order to keep the nitrate down.

You can also do a search here on the forum for Discus care. There are some great resources that people have written for this site, and you may find them very helpful.
