I got more cories today!!
So, I was in Petsmart (as always) buying algae discs, shrimp pellets, dog food, cat hairball treats, and greenies for the dog when I decided I wanted to grab a couple more cories...Why not, right?! LOL
They had limited pickings, but more than normal... there was albinos (I have 4 already)... emeralds (most were huge already!), peppered (overpriced), and what they were calling green cories.
I told the lady I wanted 2 green cories (they were priced nicely). She accidently bagged me 2 yellow glo fish. I wasnt mad, I laughed...it was her first day from cashier to fish training. (Yeah, I am friendly with most of the ppl there, I am there too often!!). So the next gal goes to get me the cories...ends up with like 4 of the cories and like 3 pink glofish in the net...she tried to remove the unwanted fish from the net with her hands...I am shreeking at this point...and she drops one of the cories on the floor!!! Doesnt think to put the rest from the net in the tank, has them flopping in the net out of water as she tried for what seemed forever to get the flopping cory off the floor. Well, then she put him right back in the tank before I could stop her...and you cant tell which one is which, they were all same size and very similar color patterns. She apologized, and I know she isnt normally in the fish section (they had moved my normal gal to mgmt so I guess they were trying to fill the void). So I told her I would rather pay more for 2 emerald cories than risk getting the floor fish. So I ended up with two emeralds that are over an inch right now, but not 2 inches yet. I'm pleased overall. When I got to the car and told the hubby what the hold up was, his eyes about fell out of his head when I told him about the floor cory!
I think it will be cool having 4 tiny habrosus cory, 4 medium sized albino cory, and then 2 massive four inch emerald cories in the tank!!! Sweet!! Wish I could squeeze in some juliis!!!
Just wanted to share my joy! :)
Awwwwww.. poor floor Cory :( That's quite the story.
Congrats on your new fishies.
Thanks!! I'll post pics once they are settled in enough to be calm long enough for a photo opp...then again they're cories, they may never be calm! lol
