Shreded fins? pale in coler? Male guppie.

My male guppie looks like he has fin rot but it is like jagged and shreded he is with a female betta but she dosn't seem mean is it her she is seperated from him.

Well if they are separated then how is she nipping him? What is the set up like.

Pics would be great, there are some guppy fin types where the fins become shredded over time (Merah, Crowntail, Swallow tail, ribbon fin) there are also many random fin types where fins become shredded but they don't necessarily fit into any category. It might not be disease or damage.

I can't see the picture.

Also it would help me to understand you better if you typed with periods and such. I can't clearly understand what you are saying when there is no punctuation. Thanks.

Sorry but I can't see your pic, I think you need to host photos at photobucket or similar to be able to see them on here.

Some (if not all) of these fin types develop over time. You can have a normal looking fin that becomes completely shredded.

This is one of my Fish that started off with a normal (ish) tail when I bought it. It's carries the Crown tail gene.

I'm not saying that's what it is but it could be.

Its gone between the rays and I have some of thos and that is not it. I'm sorry about punctiation, I am not good at that!

turtle10 04-12-2011 07:14 PM

Then it was probably nipping.

And about the punctuation thing, you don't have to be good at it, just put periods between the sentences. Super easy :)
