Aqueon 29 Gallon tank; any good?

Hey guys, I just got the starter 29 gallon aqueon kit from petco *on sale for 75 bucks*. I was wondering if anyone knows much about aqueon and glass aquariums. My dad just gave me a lecture on how glass isn't any good, that the seals will break and it will flood the house. So just wondering if anyone has any experience/preference for glass aquariums. Thanks guys!

I bought the same tank nearly 2 years ago (only a little more exspensive) and it turned out to be a real nice tank. No problems so far, and it is on a spot in my house where it's just a little off level. Also I have had numerous glass aquariums one was a 40 breeder used for 7 years then emptied and dry for 2 years then refilled and had no problems, although if it sits that long you" should" replace the seals.

Dad's all wet - the tank will be fine. We've had silicone sealed tanks for over 30 years now. The failure rates are very low, even with older tanks. Actually, the all glass, silicone sealed tanks are much more reliable than the metal framed, slate bottom, tar sealed antiques were.

Thanks guys for the info. I'll inform my dad about that, and we'll see how things go. Thanks again!
