Brine shrimp persistance in FW tank
 

How long will brine shrimp live once they have been put into a FW tank?
Do they last minutes, hours, days (if not eaten)?
I have always fed freeze-dried or frozen brine shrimp and am worried about overfeeding with live brine shrimp.

The big problem with live brine shrimp is they tend to get sucked up in the filter. When I do feed brine shrimp I usually feed less than I think I need to and turn off the filter.

That won't likely be a major issue in my tank. Heavily planted, minimal current and the filter intake is at the bottom (with pre-filter) on the opposite end from where I feed. (55 gallon)

Brine shrimp can live weeks in a tank if uneaten. Honestly there are never any left when I finish so it's not really a problem for me. If you feed them slowly they will all get snapped up.
