Fishy Teeth

Hello Fish Folk,

Don't laugh at me, please. I have Cichlids and I was looking at my yellow lab and I swear that she has teeth! Am I crazy? My other fish are not as social but she comes right up to the glass to "say hello." I haven't noticed any on the other fish though. Dee

Well, all fish have teeth which are often invisible to the naked eye.:wink2:
Some fish have teeth that are found near their throats. This is in the case of cyprinids like barbs.
Tetras have teeth but they cannot be seen too easily even if you look at their mouths.

Piranhas have teeth to rip through the flesh. They have a bad reputation for attacking humans but in fact, they don't unless you have wounds in which blood tends to make them go into feeding frenzy.:blueshake:

Speaking of fish teeth, on a vacation to Lake Powell I found a tooth on the beach. This was a large tooth, at least an inch long. And it was serrated. I swear it looked like a shark tooth. And you could tell it was from a fish and from a recent something that either washed up or whatever.... :blueshake: You'll probably move this post. OH well.

It's a marine topic.:bluelaugh:
Better use the term "freshwater shark" to make it a reasonable excuse.:wink2: :bluelaugh:
