how to store a bio wheel temporarily I just bought an Emperor Bio-wheel to replace my Penguin 125 Bio-Wheel. Seems a little powerful. Is there a way I can keep my old wheel viable for a couple of days just in case the new one doesn't work out? I replaced it with the 280 which is rated for up to 50gal and my tank is a 20. I turned the flow bar all the way down and it seems like it will be okay but I just want to be sure before I toss the old filtration system. thanks Sadie |
First off, you have to keep it wet in conditioned water. But you also need a source of ammonia or the bacteria going or they will start to die off. Personally, I would just float it in the tank with the new filter. |
Can do. I had already put the wheel in a fish bowl with tank water. I have some snails that were destined for the bird bath in the monring so I will throw them in too. New filter seems to be working well, the platies are playing in the current :D |
