I need to tell the gender of my Rubberlip Pleco
Hello fellowmen. I got a rubberlip pleco, but I don't exactly know what the gender of it yet. If it's a boy, I would name it Salvation; if it's a girl, I would name Luno.

I am not sure but I think the way to tell is to see if it has a broad head and if not then it is a female but if it is then it is a male. I would try googling it before you take my advice. I am not a plecostomus expert.

did you try lifting it's skirt? But seriously all I can find is that males have a larger dorsal fin than females. I doubt you will be able to sex you fish without a similar sized fish to compare it to.

For now I suggest a unisex name

What do you mean "Broadheaded"?:-?:|:nicefish::hmm::question::fish:Well almost 2 weeks ago. I checked on it's dorsal fin & It did look a bit short. Maybe my brother will take a picture of it & Bring an answer to it.

"Salvuno" is a girl's name.:guitarist::brow::squint: I can't give it that name if it's a boy.

It is?? I thought it was a good combo of Salvation and Luno.
Maybe you need to shoot for something completely non-gender specific so it won't matter.

I like your advice. but I will use either Salvation & Luno. Will you ask my brother to send a picture of my rubberlip for me please?
