how to sex a severum
 
i have to green severums, they sometimes fight. is this down to them being both male, if so what should i do and do anyone no haw to sex them.

Males tend to have more pointed dorsal and anal fins.

Not really. That trick is typically useless when sexing most cichlids. Female severums can also have very pointed and flowing fins.

One trick most people say is the markings in the face. In most cases, males will show a lot of "squiggle" markings around their face and gills as they mature. Females tend to show very little if any. However, this doesn't [i]always[/a] work for sexing them.
