What do you think of these as tank mates for F8's?
Hi everyone, thinking about giving my F8's some tank mates as I've looked into this carefully but am getting conflicting advice, some say yes some say no way!
What do you think on these brackish fish?
- Archer Fish
- Mono Sebae
- Mono Argenteus
- Green or Silver Scats
- White Tip Shark Cats (do these grow enormous?)
- Silver Needle Noses
- Fan Dancer Gobies
- Bumble Bee Gobies
Would love some input on this. Many thanks
I'm not super knowledgeable about brackish fish as I have only ever kept silver tip/ Colombian cats. Those things grow to about a foot and eventually require a marine tank. They're also kinda crazy and would probably drive the puffer nuts if they didn't try to eat it first. Archers and Monos are probably too big and aggressive.
I know some people say small gobies are alright but other people say the opposite because F8s are nippy as a heck.
How big is your tank? Id suggest desert gobies as they are VERY hardy and thrive in just about any environment. Ive successfully kept 2 F8s and 2 desert gobies in a 30gal tank before. They seem to get along fine with each other. The monos are also a good choice if you have a large tank, they also like to be grouped together from what ive experienced.
