ID cichlid???
 

can any1 please tell me what this cichlid is please, i was told there tanganyikan cichlid but the guy didnt know what they were, i bought 5 really cheap coz he didnt know....thank you :):):)

Looks like some type of Paracyprichromis, although I am no expert.

hmmm, its very similar in body and fin apearence and it has a yellow dorsal fin and black bars from the top os its body going down its body :):)

If the black stripes are vertical it is probably a Cyprichromis zonatus juvinile.


As I said, I am no expert but thats what it looks like to me.

no there shaped more like a brichardi , they are identical to the pic i posted, i just dno what they are ???

I guess the angle of the pic is causing me trouble. If you can get a profile pick that would help, of maybe someone else knows.

I was poking around on another forum and found your fish, I am 99% sure it is Lamprologus caudopunctatus. Caudopunctatus are shell dwellers, I keep my shell dwellers in a 20gal with play sand, escargot shells and whale eye shells. If you are going to keep shell dwellers I suggest joining shelldwellers.com and asking any questions you have there.
