I started keeping tropical fish when i was young (15) back in England. It started with the proverbial golfish bowl (how cruel), then moved on to tanks (many of them). I then branched out to cold water/pond fish with a preference to Koi. It was a hard thing to leave them (Koi) as i had reared them from young (3" long) to an average of 24" when i left for Canada. I live in a farming community and have met with many challanges when it comes to tropicalfish keeping and look forward to community forums to help me work through them. I am an old fashioned fish keeper and not use to all the new fangled gismo's. I look forward to chatting about this great hobby...:-)

Hi Judd! Welcome!! Lot's of us in here from all over the world.... but Ontario works for me!!
What tanks and fish do you have at the moment?

This chat/forum way of communicating is new to me but is a great way to give and receive information when it comes to fish. Ontario works for me too. I don't have any tanks at my home however i do help look after a 60G and 35G tanks that belong to my daughters boyfriend. He just started last year. We have five 5-6" Piranhas in the big tank and an assortment offish in the smaller such as cichlids, gold fish and a rather large Turtle. I am trying to convince him to sell the piranhas, and create a community tank and with the other i would like him to go discus. The 60G would make an ideal community tank.

Thanks. Would like to keep up to date with whats going on in the fish world over there especially with the BAF. I always liked going and checking the fish out and try to judge the fish myself and compare to what the actual judges decided.
