hi i have a tank full of various green plants which are all doing very well ,but would like to add a bit of colour ,does anyone recommend coloured ones which are easy to care for ,as i herd the red ones like more light etc .
thanx for your help steve...
Red plants for a low-tech... Hmm.I've used: (not my pictures)
Crypt wendtii 'bronze' and crypt wendtii 'red'
See Plant Profiles
Echinodorus var 'Red Flame'
Echinodorus Ozelot 'Green' or 'Red'
Ludwigea Repens/Ludwigea Natans (same plant)
May want to try Cabomba palaeformis

Many Hygrophila species are red- will have to look them up individually. Hygrophila 'Sunset'
Also, Nymphaea species are sometimes quite red. Nymphaea pubescens is a nice one that takes well to low light.
i dont know your light conditions but bronze and red crypt real nice looking and easy to care for :D
Hi i have 1 warm light and one day lite both 18w each..
The plants I mentioned are for low-light and should survive too.
