Is it a different species? 2 Attachment(s) I have a hunch that this fish I have might not be an Electric Yellow. I have 6 in my tank and this one looks different in several ways. First he is a much more pale yellow than the rest of the Electric Yellows. Second he has faint black stripes on him that none of my other ones had. He also acts different than the rest of the Electric Yellows. He tends to not interact with the other fish and stays towards the bottom of the tank. I am trying to figure out if he is just stressed out or if it is different species. Any help would be appreciated. And I did as best I could with the pictures. The first picture is of the cichlid who I suspect to be a different species, the second is of one of my Electric Yellows. |
How big is it? It could be a metriaclima lombardoi.....I think you are right though - has a different shape to Labs. Posted via Mobile Device |
It is about an inch and a half big. That is the only thing keeping me from taking him back because I know that as juveniles fish can have different appearences |
I'd let your LFS know about your concern so that if you do bring him back there won't be any problems later on. Cheers. |
I will call them tomorrow. But are there any other species that look similar to Electric Yellows? |
looks like a yellow eletric to me |
might just have a birth deform is all |
That is possible. But its behavior is also much different as well which is what leads me to believe it could possible be a different species. |
