I have 4. The guy at the shop was less then helpfull. I googled both "gold dust molly" and "gold dust platy" they come up with identical pics. Which are they? Any easy way to tell for sure? I wanted to introduce one of the females to a male in my breeding tank. I want to make sure I am introducing the right species as I heard mollies and platies cannot interbreed.
Thank you
a molly has a different shape body than a platy. Mollies (unless its a balloon molly) have a longer, thinner looking body and a platy has a shorter fatter looking body. you should look at the picture for a Molly and a Platy without including a color variety and pay attention to the differences in body style.
