Man together fish in danger!
straight to the point
3 blue rams'
1 large male, 1 large female, one smaller female
male and small female paired off, male attacked larger female
put female in guppy net in tank, been nursing its nipped fins.
now both fish have appeared to start getting holes in their heads.
not sure. but both have had some skin peel off they're heads, and i'm worried for their lives.
these fish are amazing and don't want to see them die.
anybody who's had anything similar happen. need help!
I don't know much. But I had gourami's that had a disease called hole in the head disease. It sounds similar to what you describe. Does the spot where the scales are gone seem almost raised? And have you seen Anything coming out of this hole? (ie. A white string looking thing.) I would google this disease and see for yourself. If you think it might be this, after much research I used something called metronidazole to treat it with success.
Hope this helps and if not I'm sure someone will have a stronger diagnosis than me.
Any chance you can post some pics? It does sound like HITH but there are many causes/reasons for this illness and there are also many other things that can cause "skin peeling". Pics would help.
