Why is my Zebra Nerite snail not eating the food I have?
I've tried lettuce (blanched) and tropical fish flakes. I know they eat algae wafers, but I haven't been able to get any yet. He seems to enjoy sucking on the gravel, and I think it's because there is algae I can't see. Will he be fine for a while, until I can get the wafers?
What size tank do you have? And how many snails do you have in your tank?
It's a 5 gallon. It's just one of my Bettas and one snail.
Nerites are picky. They usually prefer pea-flavored gel foods and algae more than anything else. I had some that ate a cucumber slice though.
Okay, I'll get some Algae wafers soon. I can't get them until tomorrow, though. I've heard snails only need to be feed a few times a week. Is that true? I just want to know how often to feed him.
