Food for this coral?
I do have this euphyllia for about 10 days. I don't know what food is for it and how to feed it. Please help.
It will require the addition of calcium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water for its continued good health. It will also benefit from additional food fed weekly in the form of micro-plankton or brine shrimp.
When you feed your fish its tentacles will catch what ever food is floating in the water.
added on to what usmc said if you use a pipet, or if you can't get ahold of them a turkey baster works fine, try target feeding it. you'll have better success getting the food to the coral.
I have this species along with few of its relatives, basic weekly water changes to replenish trace elements with few drops of iodine each week, feedings of DT's every other day it thrives :) especially under metal halides.
All sounds great thus far..
I'd add that I feed rotifers, cyclops and H2O products croal cuisine to these guys. In fact rotifers and cyclops do a great job at feeding most corals. Target feeding is a great method. I quit target feeding about a year ago and my euphyllia are still going strong. One change that I made was that at feeding time I unplug the return pump to the sump and only let one small power head run for about an hour. This ciculates the water around slowly so corals can grab the food without hte skimmer removing it.
