Fungus/mold problem, help!

I got a ten gallon about two months ago I did a fishless cycle fog a month. Then I divided the tank I put my 3.5 year old vt and a mustard gas hm in it. I do water changes every three days about 30%. I have four live plants and rest are fake, gravel, and filtered with a penguin filter with a baffle. Just recently I have been finding this white transparent fungus in my filter, baffle, plants and deco. On Sunday I took every thing out and washed with hot water. But after 2 days it was back.

What could this be? And how to get rid of it?

It is like a mucas slime and some is cotton like. It has never touched my fish. I would like to get rid of it. I don't have another tank to qt my fish so I can clean it and let it sit for a few days.

I can't get a good picture of it since it won't show in them. Tomorrow u am going to do a 80% water change and I will try to get a few pictures of it. This is my first time with a problem. I have had fish tanks for 8 years. So this is new to me.

Sorry for bad spelling I am on my iPod and it pretty much just spells what ever it wants to.

Do you have driftwood? None? It sounds like biofilm to me which is harmless.

What filter media do you use?
Water parameters?

Parameters are all safe. No drift wood either. Filter is a charcol catridge.

Ditch the carbon and switch to sponge, filter floss, lava rocks, ceramic rings and other media.

I'll look for some. Probably online since the store near me never carry sponge filters.

No, I did not mean the sponge filters you hook to airpumps. Sponges that you place inside filtration systems.

Could you give me a link to like one? I think I know what you mean.
