fish jumping out?

my guppy just jumped out of it's bowl. I have been feeding her (twice a day) and cleaning the water consistently (once a week). i'm just wondering if anybody would know why my fish would do this. Thanks!

Sounds like it got spooked and ran out of room to run.
My guppys run for cover if I move anywhere near the tank.
They'll come back out shortly afterwards but sometimes when they run it's pretty fast.

yeah, the only fish I know of that normally lives in a small ammount of water naturally is a betta fish. Even they like to have plenty of room to swim. Although a guppy may survive in a bowl, i'm sure it would prefer a lot more space to swim freely. It's just a matter of time before he'll want to see whats on the other side of the glass.

Usually if a fish jumps out of a bowl, the odds are it was dealing with an unhealthy water situation (from waste and decaying food) or just lack of a lid to keep it in. Unless you were checking the water with tests, there's no way to be sure. You are probably ok with feeding it just once a day to keep down on the waste in general. If you get another guppy, maybe get a really small aquarium set-up instead of just a bowl, so it will have a filter and lid.
