Need Help - Urgent!

Yesterday my sister and I went down the river for a walk to pick out some really nice, large rocks for my aquarium. I tested them with vinegar and then washed them throughly with warm water, before placing them in the tank but today every one of my fish are at the surface gasping for air :-? I did a water change yesterday and even took out another 1/4 bucket today but there is no improvement. I don't understand what could be wrong, is it the rocks? There are also anubias, java fern, java moss and 2 huge bunches of cabomba in the tank

Thanks :)

I presume you have taken the rocks out of the water now before doing a water change?

take the rocks out mate,if all was well befor you put them in,and now
things are going wrong..............i would remove them.

Yes! I took the stones out and tested the Ph - it was the usual 7.4. I've also just taken another bucket full out, just to see if it makes a difference. I've got similar stones but smaller in my betta's tank and he has been absolutely fine, it just doesn't make sense :-?

Well.....I've come to bed and 11 of my fish are dead  I have managed to put some in a container of fresh, dechlorinated water but I don't know if they are going to be OK, there's one dying every 5 mins :(

The question now is, will I have to re-cycle the entire tank? and are the plants going to die too?

god I am so sorry to hear that..what a tragedy

Sorry to hear about your fish losses... that's so sad. :-(

Have you tested your water for anything other than pH? And what test kit are you using?

How long has the tank been set up?

Have there been any other changes made in your tank besides the addition of the rocks?

What size tank is it, what kind of filter, what kind of fish, what temperature, etc... can you just give as much information about your tank as possible? Maybe there is something else that has happened in the tank, and it's just a coincidence that the timing of it lines up with the addition of new rocks?

It's now 16 fish that have died and possibly 17 since my albino BN, isn't looking to clever :-(

This morning I have come to the conclusion that the stones weren't the problem but possibly the elastic bands that I used. I am guilty of not washing them before I used them  the actual thought didn't cross my mind and it could well be the latex that killed my fish :( I can't believe how stupid I have been
