Endler doing loop swimming patterns I have an Endler that we noticed was looking quite pregnant 3 weeks ago. 7 to 14 days ago her gravid spot would appear go away a few times in a day. During this time she was in a 56g tank that had 3 upside down catfish, male endler, 5 corydoras, 3 otocinclus and a few cherry shrimp. She seemed to be quite calm and would stay near the bottom when she wasn't looking for food.
A week ago she got even bigger and the gravid spot hasn't gone away since. 5 days ago I put her in a 10 gal tank for her to give birth that also has 3 otocinclus in it. She seemed to be quite calm for the first 3-4 days. Last night and this morning though she is repeatedly doing loops at the front glass surface from the bottom to halfway up the tank and back down. All 3 otos are also at the front of the glass resting on the substrate; she swims right by them as if they aren't even there, so I don't think they are bothersome to her. She has been fed. I fed her again and she goes towards the food sometimes, but doesn't eat. any ideas why she is so active, it looks like she wants to find a way out or something. |
