I recently got a dwarf puffer, and i know they need to be fed snails every once in a while. i've got a small red ramshorn, do i need more then one for them to breed? It would be nice to have some to feed the little guy.
Yep. They do sperm exchange so you need more than one to force them to produce. I think you'll be better off with physas though. They're faster to breed. Maybe it's just me having trouble mass producing the ramshorns. Slow breeders in my experience.:redmad:
Can't use MTS or they'll crack the puffer teeth.
Alright, thanks. Ill look into the physas, aswell.
Oh- Also, do they need aeration? If i were to breed em, im sure id end up with alot. could i stick them in a old waterbottle or something, or do they need aeration?
They need aeration otherwise, they'll start popping out of the bottle/tank. Try getting a 5g tub and breed them there. Use a sponge filter. It's all you need and it is doable with both aeration and filtration.
Alright. thanks :) This is turning out to be quite the project haha
