My Other Hobby |
Very nice collection of fish baits.8) What fish have you caught with those?:) I caught a lot of large tilapia once. |
Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill Dry Flyfishing on small streams for Trout is my passion! It's really tough to spend all day in a place like this...But someones got to do it  http://www.fishforum.com/userpix/2186_Stream_1.jpg |
That looks some Adams, Blue Duns, a Mosquito, black gnat and a Caddis if I remember the names right. What size you tying? I use a slightly larger one around here the what you usually see for rainbows as we have few small trout but the crappie and bluegill love the small ones. I guess I am assuming a little that you do tie them and not just fish with them. ;) |
That's sure a nice stream, GW!:D I envy you! The surroundings there look like a nice place to hike too. |
ive been fishing many times the last time i caught my 1st fish it was a retarted fish to it swam next to the hook and got caught it was a baby walleye but my other hobbie is funner but more painful ive broke my arm twice in 2 weeks skateboarding and broke my nose but in my defence i was looking at a hot girl across the street  |
fish 4 all, I'm using #12's for the Adams, and EHC...#16 for the BWO. If I wanted to go specifically for the Gill's around here I would tie a White/Silver Bugger on a long shank #12.. though they readily take the Adams. I only have 1 Grizzly Dun Cape left so I'll have to restock soon. I dont ussually follow fly recipes and enjoy using what I find or have around here at the time. I've used dryer lint for dubbing(perfect after a load of jeans) and have recently tied a "Beagle Hair" Streamer(family pet). Lots of German Browns around in local waters with the occassional Brookie now and then but rarely. I live about 1 hour and 45 minutes away from the Salmon River but as of yet have not fished it. Lupin, Hiking not too far from here will put you in places like this: http://www.fishforum.com/userpix/2186_ADK_Sunrise_1.jpg |
hi not into fishing myself, however the scenery is beautiful. :) |
I love fly fishing. Used to tie my own dry flies, but had to stop when I got hte cats. Something about feathers, hooks, glue and cats just seemed like an accident waiting to happen. :P |
